What to wear for a photo session?

The final result is always a mix of many things: location, time of day, your mood, your outfits, and of course the photographer’s experience.
In this post I want to share some reccomendations about clothes on photo sessions
• You should feel comfortable in whatever you wear. Your outfit shouldn’t limit your movements — you should be able to run, lift your arms, lie on the grass or couch, or do anything you feel like during the shoot :) That’s why I often recommend loose-fit clothes, oversized shirts, soft sweaters, flowy dresses, etc.
• Unless it’s part of a styled look, it’s better to stay away from very intense colors, logos or text — they usually take too much attention in the photos.
For my style of photography, colors that are closer to natural tones would work better.
but there are always exceptions and its perfectly when clients send me pictures of the outfits they want to take for the session
You can see below a link to my Pinterest boards with ideas that work great for photos. You can also check the shoot location in advance - it helps a lot when choosing what colors and styles to wear.
If you search for "color palettes" on Pinterest, you’ll find lots of examples that help you pick tones that go well together.
Why does everything look so good in movies? Because the color styling is carefully planned :)
• Pay attention to the small things
Details matter. Think about your manicure pedicure, makeup, shoes (sometimes barefoot works too!), and accessories.
But don’t go overboard with jewelry — just enough to add a nice touch. Everything should look balanced and fit the overall mood. You should remember that photographer shouldnt do work that must do Make Up artist :) • Toy can bring some dop details
You can bring things like sunglasses, flowers, hats, bags, scarves, blankets, etc.
These little things can really make your photos more fun and help you feel more relaxed (especially if you’re not sure what to do with your hands).
Even just your favorite flower can add variety and emotion to the shots. • The best photos often happen when people interact naturally. Think of something you can do during the shoot - like flipping through a photo book, baking a cake, playing with your pet, flying a kite, reading, or something connected to your hobbies.
Activities make the photos feel more real - and fun!
• How many outfits can you bring? If we have a car feeel free to bring a few things and we’ll hang them up and decide as we go which ones to mix and match. Please make sure that the clothes are not wrinkled
If it’s a solo shoot, in 2 hours we can usually manage 1-2 outfits.
If it’s a family session, I usually suggest 1 outfit, or 2 max.
Why?Because family shoots work differently. I prefer to capture natural moments, and constant outfit changes can distract kids and even lead to tears or cranky moods :)
